I was emailing a friend this morning and afterward thought how this friend of mine, who I truly love, have a very deep connection, however we never really have spent a lot of time together. We both live on different coasts, but that isn’t the reason we don’t physically see one another. We met at our place of employment 26 years ago. We both held jobs where we were responsible for sensitive information and we were both known among our higher-ups as very discreet and trusted individuals. We saw one another at functions but never really got together on a personal level, but we always truly respected one another. When my grandson was born on another coast, my husband and I decided we would relocate back to form a bond with him and to be a part of his life. When this decision was made I confidentially told this person what I was planning to do and asked her opinion about this decision and that I was looking for work out there. She advised me and helped me with this difficult transition and with great wisdom and knowledge. I successfully made the move and was lucky enough to work at an equally prestigious organization with a very high-powered individual. I am telling this story because this friend (connection) in my life is very important to me. Even though we have never spent time together except on one or two occasions, we have shared some very wonderful experiences though not physically present with one another. She is my spiritual soul-sister. Friendships are the foundation of our life that keep us connected in love as human beings during this life journey. Whether we physically get to hang with our friends, or are connected through our past experiences, to me these connections are just as important and meaningful as friends we see all the time. I am profoundly grateful for these connections.
